Renae has consistently demonstrated compassion and care to all our patients in the clinic. She is a "go-getter". She has never said "no" and it is never too late for her to spare a hand to help out a needy patient. She makes sure she calls patients beyond her duty hours, if needed, several times to ensure their safety or help them if they needed to go to the ED. She definitely goes above and beyond to help a needy colleague or a patient. I would very much like to appreciate her dedication to our Veterans.

I wanted to share how Renae went above and beyond to help a Veteran get a colonoscopy. My patient Mr. B (79) was losing weight and I scheduled him for a cscope. GI saw him but was unable to schedule as he did not have a sitter. He stopped by our clinic yesterday for help.
Renae made several phone calls, sent alerts with the information she obtained and also alerted the doctor. He got involved with the GI team and Mr. B is now scheduled for a much-needed cscope and a 23-hour observation.
***
I had an elderly Veteran who had not eaten since yesterday, was tearful, and hungry. Renae immediately went to the cafeteria and came back with sandwiches and drinks for him. She even packed some extra for his dinner. He had tears of joy in his eyes. We are blessed to have such a caring nurse amongst us. I feel proud of her and wanted to share this with you.
