We are traveling Veterans. In January my husband, C, began to feel weak, pale and had severe lack of energy. We came to the VA to check on his condition. We were told we would be seeing a nurse and so we waited. Bobby Dizon was the nurse who came to see us. He explained the traveling Veteran Program to us, and how our visit to the VA here would be handled.
After exchanging information and explaining how my husband was feeling, Bobby felt as though we needed to see a doctor and get some labs done. All the doctors were very busy, but Bobby felt there was some urgency that we find out what was happening with C and so he pursued the issue.
After some time, he took us to see Dr. H. My husband was weak and pale. Dr. H arranged labs and found severe anemia. Bobby came back several times to check on us. We were sent to Doctors Hospital at Renaissance where it was determined that we were dealing with colon cancer and renal bone cancer. We had no idea. Bobby was so sure something was very wrong, and he pursued. We feel as though he saved my husband's life with his knowledge, observation, and attention to details. His persistence helped us get the care we needed. We want to call this amazing nurse to your attention. God Bless You all and the Good Work you!
