Reyna shows kindness, patience, and compassion. She requested to be my nurse for 3 days that she was working. She always made time to check on me and go above and beyond. I was very ill and had been unable to shower. I was uncomfortable and embarrassed that my hair was a mess. Toward the end of her shift, she offered to take the time to wash my hair for me. Perhaps not a big gesture for many but when you are feeling ill that small gesture means the world! She truly deserves to be recognized.
***
She was approachable when I was new and introduced herself to me. She assured me that I can ask her any questions regarding clinical practice and reassured me that I will do a great job. Every shift that we work together, I'm ecstatic that she is on because I know I can count on her. Even when she is not resource, EVERYONE goes to her for questions/help/advice because we all know she will get the job done and she will HELP YOU no matter what, even if she's swamped with her own patients. She's the ideal team player, someone I'd trust to care for my sick family, and just RN goals overall. She works extremely hard and is fair, nonjudgmental, encourages you and you welcome her words of advice. I can't think of any RN who is more deserving.
