Rhonda is truly one of God's Earthly Angels! Thanks to Rhonda's care and humor my husband's last day on earth was one of smiles and jokes.
Rhonda not only too good care of him, she took care of me and my family. She was in his room when he was slipping away. She comforted me, called my children, and stayed for us long after her shift ended at 7:30 pm. I cannot thank her enough for being there with me and comforting me.

I am nominating Rhonda Hammond for the DAISY award. I have attached a small piece of the reason why I am doing so. This was a VIP card (that I haven't given to Rhonda yet when writing this) from a patient's wife thanking her for what she did in his last day of life. Now, Rhonda is remarkable on our unit, but what I found most interesting was that this was a day she floated to another unit. She not only provides the best care on our unit, but she stepped out of her comfort zone (and if you know Rhonda you know that floating has been a great, but improving, discomfort for her) and provided the best care on another unit. It takes a special nurse to do this and give of herself before thinking of herself. I'm so glad I work with Rhonda every day and she is a true DAISY. To quote the sentiments on the card, "She is truly one of God's Earthly Angels."
