Richard is an exceptional nurse. He always walked into my room as we both saluted each other, as soldiers do, with a smile and a firm handshake. He is always respectful and kind. His attention to detail in the care he provided me always came from the heart. Richard always addressed my concerns plus some.

One evening, I wasn't particularly feeling all that great. Richard went through the process of elimination and he and I were both puzzled. Richard then said, "Well, my friend, understand that at 100 years old you are allowed to have some 'off' days." We both laughed. I then realized that what I needed was a little laughter, not medicine nor emergent needs that required a doctor's call, only a little more TLC and a spoonful of laughter to lift my spirits.
