Richard has worked in the cath lab for over ten years. He is a dedicated nurse who never calls in to work and is always on time. Richard brings expertise and compassion to the lab every day. He is very knowledgeable and always willing to teach with a non-judgmental perspective.
I am nominating Richard Hall for a DAISY Award because one morning this month on the way to clock in I saw Richard getting out of his car coming to work. Two parking spots away two women were having car problems. Richard immediately went to aid them. He was not thinking about the consequences of being late. He pulled jumper cables from his car and provided assistance. Later, when I asked how it went he said, "Fine". He was not looking for recognition.
On another occasion a patient came in emergency status. Even though we were rushing to get the patient hooked up to monitors and prepped Richard noticed the patient was anxious. He went to the head of the bed and offered comforting words and calmed the patient. He advocates for patients even when it means disagreeing with providers.
