As they say, laughter is a way of dealing with life’s stressors. Using humor to spark joy and laughter is one of Nurse Robert’s gifts not only to our Veterans but to everyone he meets. A Veteran himself, Nurse Robert is always respectful and considerate. He injects humor to diffuse tension in a situation that leads to maintaining a positive environment of quality care for our Veterans. He is very firm in his advocacy for helping others by choosing “the harder right instead of the easier wrong” and performing his duties to the utmost best of his abilities. He is always on call for any problems or issues that require a quick solution and assistance. On one occasion, in response to a shortage of staffing due to different circumstances, Nurse Rob immediately jumped in literally to assist not 2 but 3 clinics. With his commitment to helping everyone, he triaged the clinic needs appropriately and rendered care immediately with a refreshing positive attitude. Nurse Rob also made sure by communicating with all Veterans. MSA and staff what was occurring and made everyone understand the situation in his comedic ways. Lastly, Nurse Rob continues to commit a large amount of time and energy to ensure the veterans, staff, AND providers are ALL supported. That is what makes him a true DAISY Nurse.
