Roberta has been a nurse for many years and I have been lucky to work by her side for many of those years. She is a nurse that others aspire to be like. She is devoted to her profession and has balanced life and work.

Roberta has a gift. She acts and speaks professional with soft kindness woven in. She has a sense of humor that is unbeatable and her listening skills are unmatched.

Roberta goes out of her way to help patients. On more than one occasion I have seen Roberta get into her purse and then go to her patient's room. One day I asked her what was up. She said her patient did not have money for a prescription and Roberta had given her money. Roberta said that the patient needed it more than she did. I know she provides more than bedside care to her patients. This is how Roberta works she does not want accolades, her goal is to keep her patients healthy, take their medicine and not to be readmitted.

Roberta not only assesses the needs of her patients she assess the needs of her co-workers. We change into scrubs when we come to work and Roberta was listening (like the good nurse) to staff saying things like "darn I forgot my socks again" and the next thing you know Roberta has bought bulk socks at Costco and quietly puts them in the locker room for staff.

Roberta is a mentor and leads by example like no other. She never asks for anything. Only what she can do for you.
