Rosanne makes my night start off with a level of positivity and hope rarely seen in nursing these last few years.
Every nurse has one thing that you can say they shine at. Rosanne is like a well-cut diamond, flashing brilliant light in all directions. She accepts her assignments, smiles, and goes to work. Often I arrive and Rosanne has the majority of patients, has the reports ready, knows all about every patient, and has still helped everyone around her to finish their shift. She is always helpful, smart, caring, and kind.
I can tell when Rosanne is in charge as walking down the hallway I feel a calmness in the air. I am greeted with a smile and a sense of peace. Rosanne makes my night start off with a level of positivity and hope rarely seen in nursing these last few years. At times I feel as if I turn the corner fast enough I will find her in the middle of burning rooms and supplies with a fire hose putting out the flames and handing out bottled water.
Many times Rosanne has given me report and casually explained the happenings of the day, sounding like a day of mayhem, and just smiles and tells me the problems are solved, giving me tips and pointers on each, should any other intervention be needed. I find that most opposite shifts have tiffs but I can honestly sound off and say I have NEVER heard any negative comments about Rosanne. Team members often say, "It's going to be a good night, Rosanne was here."
Not only staff but patients are well cared for, her rooms are tidy, her patients express their affection and appreciation for the warm, caring, and prompt attention she provides. Rosanne is always available for questions, supplies answers, tips, or another opinion. Rosanne exemplifies what a nurse, a co-worker, a professional, and a community member should be, but most of all, she is a friend and a precious gem.
