She described Rosemarie as a phenomenal nurse who consistently delivers exemplary care to her patients.

The leader shared her impression of a particular occasion where Rosemarie stepped beyond the nurse role and became a friend, a confidant and a mother figure to a young patient in need. The patient had recently learned of a devastating cancer diagnosis. He happened to be from Rosemarie's home country the Philippines, and he was alone on his admission. Rosemarie made sure she was with him when he learned his diagnosis, when he made the call to his parents in the Philippines, and even continued to offer support and guidance, coming in on her days off to be by his side.

Rosemarie treated this patient like family through a very difficult time in his life, her compassion extending beyond expectation. She impacted the life of a patient in a positive and selfless way. She made a memorable difference. That is the definition of extraordinary.
