Rosemary was called in early for a surgical hip patient. He was not able to have surgery due to pathology found in his hip. At 80 years old, this was rather upsetting news for him, and he was alone. When Rosemary took him to his room, he didn't want to be in his room alone while he waited for his wife to arrive. Rosemary had established a compassionate, caring relationship with him and therefore stayed 1 1/2 hours, on her own time, to ensure he felt cared for. What a beautiful thing to do for a patient who was having to process his diagnosis, facing his mortality. Rosemary has a heart of gold!
