My dad was directly admitted from Summit ER for chest pain. Upon his arrival on the 4th floor, his EKG began to show ST changes. The swift actions of Charge Nurse Rovina saved my dad's life that night. She immediately ordered an EKG, and the admitting doctor was at the bedside very quickly to activate the cath lab. From the moment my dad entered the room, I took my first real breath and knew he was in the right place with the right nurses and doctors caring for him. Her caring attitude and ability to calm my mother and me were refreshing. For the first time that evening, the panic had left my mom's eyes, and I could tell it was Rovina who played a critical role in this. Well after her shift had ended, she continued to care for my dad and ensured the sheath left in his right leg was removed without incident. I know Rovina would say it was a pleasure to care for patients and do her job, but to me, it was much more. Today, 11 days after entering your hospital, my dad is being discharged home to his family, and Rovina is one nurse I have to thank for that.
