I have worked in MICU since April 2021. Ruth has been the full-time supervisor on nights since before I started. It is difficult to put into words how wonderful Ruth is to this unit and our patients. She ensures we are providing the absolute best care for our patients in many different ways.

1. Ruth has been foundational to each staff member's development as a nurse. Night shift brings a consistent flow of new graduate nurses, new ICU nurses, and travelers. She is always eager to answer any of our questions or lend a helping hand. Throughout a week of work, you will see Ruth placing bedside IVs, helping settle an admission into the unit, or helping with hygiene care. She is always ready to help. I am a better nurse due to Ruth's guidance.

2. She would not ask us to do anything she wouldn't do herself. She is a constant model of high-quality nursing care. Our team reflects the quality of care in our day-to-day care.

3. She brings a go-getter attitude. If Ruth notices something off or wrong, she is quick to fix it. She does not have the ability to ignore issues, no matter how small. In summary, Ruth is the rock to our night shift team. She would never ask for the applause, but I would love to recognize her.
