We had a patient on the unit who was from the local jail and could not receive visitors. This was very hard for his wife, who wanted to come and visit. The patient only wanted male nurses, and Ryan was a team player, taking the patient for all 6 days that he worked. Ryan was very compassionate with the patient, who, at times, could have tantrums, with a history of violence due to a TBI. Ryan was able to get the wife visiting privileges so she could make informed decisions about the patient's continuing care since the patient was declining. Ryan showed respect for this patient, who could be difficult at times.

Ryan helps the unit work as a team and is always willing to take on extra patients if he needs to. Ryan has a fun personality and can keep the unit smiling even during stressful times.
