I want to nominate Sadie for the DAISY Award because she left an unforgettable impression on me during one of the most vulnerable times of my life. I came into the hospital with a deep discomfort and distrust of healthcare providers, but Sadie’s calm and caring presence completely changed that.

When my water broke, I didn’t progress for 24 hours, and many providers were pressuring me to induce labor despite my desire for a natural birth. I was terrified things would end badly. Sadie, however, never pressured me. She explained everything clearly and compassionately, helping me understand the situation without making me feel coerced. Her respect for my autonomy was incredible; she allowed me to make my own decisions and empowered me to feel confident in doing so.

Although I ultimately chose to use Pitocin and an epidural, it was my choice, and that made all the difference. Sadie’s unwavering support and kindness turned what could have been a traumatic experience into one where I felt seen, heard, and cared for. I will always be grateful for her professionalism and empathy.
