Sadie, nurse navigator, went over and above to help me rearrange my first chemo infusion appointment so that my husband could be with me, as he is a helicopter fire pilot and not always in town. One other time, I had a medical reaction and barely made it to bed and had to leave a message at my doctor's office. After waiting an hour I called Sadie, she called back right away, ran to the hospital pharmacist and bingo, she and I figured which supplement that I should not take while using this medicine I was on.

I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. It's a scary and emotional experience. I did not know where to start and how to navigate through it all. Sadie showed compassion and helped me find the care that I needed. She listened and gave support during one of the most difficult times in my life. I nominate her because she is compassionate and truly cares about the patient. She saw me beyond just a patient but also who I am beyond my illness.
