My grandma has been in the hospital more times than I can count, and over time she has become fearful of the hospital for either feeling as though no one listens to her or fear of getting sick with an infection from being in the hospital. She doesn't ask to go to the hospital unless it's serious and when admitted, she will fight it.
Let me tell you, I've never seen my grandma as calm and as taken care of as she was with Sagal as her nurse. She was so caring and gentle with my grandma and answered all her questions in ways she understood. My grandma never had to complain of pain because Sagal was already on it. She constantly kept me updated and never once got annoyed with my grandma pushing the call light too many times, and she always came in smiling and wanted the best for my grandma just like I do.
Sagal talked to my grandma as a person first then a patient and that is a quality that only a select few have. For my grandma to continue to compliment Sagal and never once complain, that's a big deal. Sagal is the type of nurse I strive to be (I'm in nursing school) and amid all the chaos of this virus, she remained happy and radiated the type of energy that lets you know just how thankful she is to be your nurse.
