Salamatu Abass is the only FT Head Nurse for the MCH program. She consistently covers 2 Boroughs for the program. Salamatu embodies the ICARE model. She always puts her patients FIRST. She is Accountable for her actions by contacting the appropriate disciplines such as MD, SW, and ADN for any identifiable issues. Her documentation is timely. She consistently meets productivity standards while covering the 2 Boroughs.

Salamatu received a compliment from an ACS Worker on a very difficult case in the Bronx MCH team. The ACS worker reported Salamatu did a great job with the mother and baby. They were impressed with the excellent care and the compassion she showed to this family.

Salamatu rarely says no to the request when asked to do overtime due to staffing. She volunteers to assist the QU MCH team when this occurs. The MCH program acknowledges Salamatu as an asset. The program continues to remain viable due to her willingness to work the 2 boroughs.
