Salwinder was nominated for his quick actions while helping a distressed patient with a dangerously elevated heart rate. The patient woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom but found himself tangled in a cord. As he tried untangling himself, he only managed to get himself more stuck and frustrated. He quickly became angry and his heart rate skyrocketed.
Salwinder heard the sounds of a struggle and came into the room to untangle the patient. After the patient used the restroom, Salwinder took his pulse and discovered that the patient's heart was beating at 200 beats per minute.

After several hours of work, Salwinder and the physician on hand were able to slow the patient's heart rate and calm him down.
