He cared and became my biggest advocate, just like a member of my own family. He listened to me cry, hugged away my fears, and made me feel like I mattered and was not alone.
I spent more than seven days as a guest with Banner Del Webb. Unfortunately coming in via ambulance into your Emergency Room. While I was met with a fast working and professional staff, there was minimal compassion or empathy for what was a very scary situation for me personally. Once I was transferred to a room, my situation improved a lot. By day two, I endured a complication with my ability to breathe, causing the activation of your Rapid Response Team. Again, fast and professional. However, I continued feeling frustrated and alone as I was being treated as just another bed to get through and not a thinking, feeling, scared, and alone individual. I suffered three embarrassing restroom accidents due to slow responses. I was at my wit's end and ready to speak to the Hospital Administrators until one day, my new Nurse walked through my door. From that moment on, my experiences changed. From hello, this RN was responsive and RESPONSIBLE! It's as though he took a personal and REAL interest, not just in assisting my doctors with a diagnosis but in providing what I needed most. This RN happily and without hesitation gave me his time, his ear, and his shoulder to lean on. He cared and became my biggest advocate, just like a member of my own family. He listened to me cry, hugged away my fears, and made me feel like I mattered and was not alone. He spoke with my doctors and he fought for what was best for my recovery and became my champion. He kept me confident and reassured in my treatment plan and was always at my door with a caring smile and human concern. When we think of people who have a true calling, this RN, for me, will forever come to mind and always be in my heart. THANK YOU!!!
