These little things she took time out of her shift to do will really help our family take care of her at home. I think Sam deserves to be recognized for the great care she provides for all of her patients everyday!
Sam has been a great nurse, taking care of my daughter during her long hospital stay. She provided exceptional nursing care every day by making sure meds were given on time and addressing concerns I had with the doctors in a timely manner. She always kept the room clean and tidy, and she had us on some bad days and some good days when my daughter was awake and smiling at Sam. Sam went above and beyond to make a daily schedule chart to hang in our room, and we can use it at home to help the family understand our child's needs. She also made labeled bags for her trach and g-tube. These little things she took time out of her shift to do will really help our family take care of her at home. I think Sam deserves to be recognized for the great care she provides for all of her patients every day!

My granddaughter has been in and out of the PICU for the last 8 months. Sam has been our nurse several times. She is always kind and patiently answers our questions. Most recently, my granddaughter had to have a tracheotomy. Nurse Sam went above and beyond when she learned how to use the laminating machine so she could make pages with a 24 hour period so we could take proper care of her when she comes home. Nurse Sam created a list of times 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., listing everything that needed to be done for every hour of the day. That was awesome! It is one less thing we would have to figure out. Taking care of a baby that needs complex care is difficult. Having a great nurse like Sam makes it a little easier. I feel blessed to have her as a part of our team not only at the hospital, but her care and guidance will be with us wherever we may go.
