She listened to me. She was patient and did not rush him. She treated him with respect and kindness.
Sam was one of my Dad’s night nurses. I cannot thank her enough for the excellent care she provided. My dad was on night five when Sam was assigned to him. At night my Dad was hallucinating, delusional, and aggressive due to medications that were being administered in the evening. Each night, I tried to leave around 11pm only to be called back within the hour to assist, usually after he pulled his IV out. This had gone on for multiple nights. Sam and I were able to work together to keep Dad safe and entertained. (We both thought outside the box.) She was the first nurse that allowed me to go home and get some actual sleep! My first sleep since admission. I am a retired paramedic firefighter and was very pleased and proud of her. Her excellent care went up and above the normal duties of a nurse. She listened to me. She was patient and did not rush him. She treated him with respect and kindness. Not only did I get my first night of sleep… so did my Dad! Thank you Sam. Keep up the great work! FYI – For entertainment we created knot puzzles for my Dad to solve. Kept him busy for hours.
