Sam was my nurse upon admission from the ER on an early Saturday morning. I was severely dehydrated from low potassium and was also diagnosed with the flu while in the ER. Sam explained everything that he was doing and was prompt to take care of my needs even though his floor was at capacity. He has a very calming and compassionate personality as well as being secure in his nursing skills which gave me as a patient the feeling I was receiving the best care possible. Sam never showed he was aggravated or frustrated when the majority of my data was lost in the computer program when I was discharged from the ER. Sam worked well with his coworkers including the CNA working with him. I felt even more secure when Sam went over my history with the nurse that came in after him. Colquitt Regional is a much better hospital because of Sam Batista.
