As a 4W/5NW2 nurse on the floor and relief coordinator, Sandra is a great resource on the unit both for her patients and colleagues. She is a certified Spanish interpreter which helps during the admissions and discharge process and is critical when communicating with patients and their families. One colleague notes that Sandra is the person everyone turns to with questions or issues. She can always be relied on when the unit is short-staffed and is constantly working to improve the unit through her involvement as co-chair of the CDC. Sandra spearheaded the majority of the standards that were written for the Northwest Tower opening and has been instrumental in gathering information and writing documents for the Magnet journey. Above all, Sandra is an exceptional nurse who takes the time for the little things, like sincere conversations to brighten a patient's day or simply easing their minds with her caring demeanor. She makes each patient feel like they are her only patient.
