While attending to my daughter, Sandra displayed incredible kindness, professionalism, and exemplary competence. My daughter endured a painful allergic reaction that attacked her skin and certain membranes. The required treatment and healing was exhausting, but Sandra's nursing skills, calm demeanor, and positive attitude helped in calming our fears. Sandra was also patient and responsive to our questions about the treatment, medications, and healing process. We always slept better when Sandra was the nurse charged with responsibility for my daughter's care.
Early in the process, Sandra stated that she was concerned about healing my daughter holistically. In other words, she wanted to ensure that my daughter was ok physically and mentally. Sandra followed through on these assertions as she connected well with my daughter and offered encouraging words. After my daughter was moved out of the unit, Sandra stopped by to check on her. These actions again reaffirmed Sandra's personal interest in and concern for my daughter.
My daughter continues to heal nicely, and Sandra left a lasting impression on the entire family. My daughter recently resumed her studies as a junior at university. Sandra's been on my mind for a while and I am glad that I finally took time to write about this outstanding nurse and individual.
