Sandra began to help me in the evening after coming in from the emergency room, by ambulance. She was timely, a woman who knows how to help everyone she meets. She was training a young lady, and during the night, had to switch rooms for another patient who became loud and abusive to his male nurse. She was so sweet, like a family member loving, kind never once complained. Took care of each person's needs, her male nurse's need, to calm his patient down and came back to care for my needs. All while training another nurse that night. This was a night in my life I'll never forget.
I was injured in my home (small bathroom) and collapsed, hitting my head. When I woke, it was her. I remember in my darkly lit room. Sandra was calm, sweet spoken, reassuring, and did her job, multitasking every step.
This year, having to prepare for a brother's funeral who is a resident of Porterville Development Center, who is blind, cannot speak or hear and has epilepsy, it was a lot for me to handle.
Sandra has the highest ethical and professional standards and is accountable for her performance. She treated me with respect and dignity, along with other patients and another RN. She was not afraid to be engaged, an active participant to do what needed to be done. She has the adaptability to achieve great results for Los Robles Hospital. She is a team player, goes the extra mile. With her, on your team day in and day out she will be a success in the eyes of her co-workers, patients, doctors etc. In my eyes, she is a success.
Sandra carries the light and vision and she empowers everyone she meets. She is committed, takes action and is a light to your hospital, focused and a participant of a passion to her work. She can take action to improve a tough day and brings a breath of fresh air to a hospital stay. Sandra is special to me, my husband and my family.
