Sarah has excellent interpersonal skills as evidenced by her maturity to deal with all kinds of people and the fact that she has never been in conflict with anyone. She has passed more than once as a charge nurse and was able to manage the unit and staff in a respectful manner, allowing the work to be done without affecting the team spirit and unit outcomes. This lead to the appreciation of her superiors to her work, be it nurse leader, nurse shift administrators, nurse manager, and others.
Sarah has excellent assessment skills as she has been in the pediatric oncology field for over 6 years. This allowed her to have a critical eye and be able to detect any deviation whether in practice or in a patient's condition. Example, patient M was a 6 month old newly diagnosed baby with leukemia and Sarah noticed that the mother was very stressed because her daughter was about to be discharged and the mother was overwhelmed. So Sarah spent a lot of time with her to reassure her and to explain the complications and how they could be managed if they happen. The mother was crying a lot but at the end she was able to understand and feel a bit of relief.
