Since Sarah Abdolcader started in 2021, she has led 6 cohorts. She has an amazing talent for connecting with these novice nurses and giving them the courage and motivation to excel in nursing. I have had nurse residents tell me that they took the KP opportunity over other offers because of Sarah. She has also counseled residents who doubted their abilities or were overwhelmed and was able to get them back on track. Being a new nurse can be stressful, so having someone who can nurture these residents is key.
Beyond the relationships she builds with residents, she also works tirelessly behind the scenes on this program. She works closely with local managers to create training schedules, ensure that residents progress, and fill any other operational gaps. I work closely with Sarah for the hiring process, and she insists on being part of every interview. She carefully reviews each and every candidate to ensure they are the right fit for the program. No task is below her; she will get the job done. She will figure it out if she doesn’t know the answer. Beyond her work, Sarah is a warm and just a fun person to be around. She can strike up a conversation with anyone, not just about work, but getting to know people outside their work roles.

Sarah is a powerhouse who builds relationships with colleagues and across medical centers. She stands out in creating engagement and community across all sites through her warmth and dedication. She frequently tours the medical centers, connecting with individuals from all levels - from new grads to nurse leaders. This connection translates to the success of the programs she leads, such as RN training programs and the preceptor community of practice. Her leadership of multi-center programs consistently unites teams, ensuring initiatives are successful and everyone participating is energized. She has also mentored many new grads on her personal time outside of the program and other leaders within KP. She provides a compassionate and personal connection with many. By building authentic relationships, she helps KP employees around the region feel valued, connected, and inspired to do their best work.
