Sarah kept us well informed explaining everything in layman's terms not to make us feel stupid, but to truly include us.
My daughter had a postpartum hemorrhage, this nurse came in the day after my daughter delivered her baby. It was a very challenging day because they were having trouble stopping her uterus from bleeding. While checking her vitals, she told us, "you all look too overwhelmed and tired". She came in cleaning my daughter's room, wiping my daughter down, and picked up after the day before. She continued to show concern while changing her sheets, feeding her ice, checking fluid levels and changing bed pads, and replacing ice packs. Calling the doctor with updates, she kept us well informed explaining everything in layman's terms not to make us feel stupid, but to truly include us. Stayed with us through a vascular embolism helping the nurses with C's care in another area. Most importantly she prayed with us before the procedures. She cares, she cares, Sarah Apel really cares.
