She was informative, personable, and compassionate. Her light-hearted spirit helped me to smile for the first time in days.
This last week was the worst I've ever had. My husband and I were told that I was miscarrying at just over 9 weeks with our first pregnancy. We were devastated to learn that the baby's heart stopped beating days before and were told that I would need to get a D&C because of how far along I was. I was discharged from the ED and told to follow up with my OB to get the surgery scheduled. For the next couple days, I was in severe pain due to cramping while awaiting the procedure, and emotionally, I was a wreck. Upon admission into the PACU, I was greeted by Sarah Bauer, who was an absolute joy. She was informative, personable, and compassionate. Her light-hearted spirit helped me to smile for the first time in days. She also acknowledged that while this was happening inside my body, that my husband is also impacted by the pain of our miscarriage. She spoke to him with kindness and expressed her sympathy for what we were both going through. After being discharged, Sarah called to check on me the next day. The entire team sent a card to my house as well. I've never had a hospital experience like this before and I'm fairly certain I never will again. I am beyond proud of my Kootenai family and thankful for Sarah.
