We talked it over, and she really spoke to me, not just as a patient but as a person.
During my whole pregnancy, I was pretty adamant about no epidural and going all natural. After being induced and going through the contractions for 5/6 hours, I could barely stand the pain. Sarah came to ask me to kind of explain my choice of no epidural because she was trying everything to help me with the pain. We talked it over, and she really spoke to me, not just as a patient but as a person. She understood my fears and didn't push me to get it just to make her job easier. I decided to get it and was scared the whole process - Sarah was so great at reassuring me and trying to make me calm, and afterward, I was instantly relieved. Sarah helped me a lot through one of the most traumatic things a woman can go through, and she instead made it bearable to the point I was saying, "Yeah, I could do this again," just 5 minutes after giving birth. Sarah is the kind of nurse I'd want in every delivery room or postpartum room, I was lucky to see her again as my nurse in postpartum.
