My daughter is just over a year old and she was hospitalized for five days with a major thumb infection. I was very grateful to have Sarah as my night nurse for three nights. Sarah was super sweet to my daughter and connected with her instantly. My daughter would smile and laugh whenever Sarah walked into the room. Sarah was the first nurse to suggest/request pain meds for her to make her wound soak and bandage change more tolerable. I appreciated her concern.
I was most appreciative of the care Sarah gave my daughter but she also took great care of me. She always made it a point to ask me if there was anything I needed every time she left the room. One moment that impressed me is when my daughter woke up before me one morning. Sarah was in to give my daughter her IV meds. She was fussing so Sarah got her more milk for her bottle, allowing me to get a few more precious moments of sleep. I have never before experienced or witnessed the level of care that Sarah gave us. All the little extra things that Sarah did, she did so matter-of-factly. This made it obvious to me that exceptional care is part of her everyday routine.
