Sarah is going above and beyond in caring for patients. She is extremely efficient and takes extra steps when working on prior authorizations to see that patients get the medications they need. 
 
Sarah has provided exceptional nursing judgment and care for many years at NM-W and RMG- Behavioral Health. Her most recent "above and beyond" moment involved a patient who was dealing with a difficult life-changing event. The patient was having difficulty reaching a live person in our office due to difficulty with her phone. Sarah continued to reach out to her in various ways to provide her support and to have her come to the office for an urgent appointment. Sarah continued to reach out to the patient and (allowed) family members via phone calls, MyChart messages and arrangements with the scheduling department that would allow for the call to be put through to her if the patient were to make contact. Sarah was even able to secure an appointment ahead of time with another provider should this patient call back and need an urgent appointment while her regular provider was out of town. Sarah's patience, critical thinking skills and straight forward compassion provided the opportunity to serve this patient during her time of need and to anticipate what those needs might be ahead of time in order to offer her options for next steps. Nursing is not a job for Sarah. It is truly a calling, and this shows every single day she comes into the office.
