What can you say about a true angel on earth named Sarah?
She had a special connection with my husband of forty-five years. She provided him exceptional care while he was on the unit. My family and I could ask her anything and she would always smile and answer our questions. I rang the nurse's call bell several times and she would always enter the room with a big smile ready to help and attend to my husband's needs.
I stayed by my husband's bedside day in and day out due to him having a massive stroke which left him unable to verbally communicate and due to his extreme anxiety with the healthcare system. One time I had to step out of the room and when I came back in, Sarah was sitting next to his bed holding his hand and talking to him. This means a lot to me that I cannot express even in words.
My husband passed away when Sarah arrived to start her shift on Med/Surg. She came in right away and tried to help assist in making him feel comfortable prior to his passing. She was visibly upset at my husband's condition that morning, and it just demonstrated how much she cared about him. She even told us on her days off that she was thinking about him, which I know is true.
Sarah attended my husband's viewing. I knew in my heart she would. It meant so much to my family and me that she came. She left me such a beautiful card that I will always cherish. I have read the card several times.
I will never forget my angel, Sarah she is the true meaning of an angel on earth.
