Sarah has been at Carle for 22 years and serves as a preceptor and VF coordinator for Pediatrics. More importantly, she is known as the "Bubble Nurse". She has an amazing technique of having kids blow bubbles when she gives them shots.
Sarah goes above and beyond to provide excellent patient care when dealing with young patients and nervous parents. My example is shortly after our 6th child was born, she was 2 weeks old and developed a form of pneumonia. We have 5 other children but had never dealt with a medical issue of this level. Sarah was so patient with us. We called her several times a day to ask questions about the baby's breathing and whether or not we were underreacting or overreacting. No matter how many phone calls we made to her during that time or how many questions we asked, she was patient with us and eased our minds when we couldn't speak directly to the doctor. It was probably the scariest moment of our lives and without Sarah talking us through it and reassuring us, we would have been lost. She doesn't know how much she helped us during that time and we want to thankher for all that she does.
