Sarah went above and beyond when she went after work to buy a hearing-aid battery for a hearing-impaired patient who was very anxious about communicating with staff members.
The patient was concerned about the batteries losing their charge, and eventually, in the night, the battery died completely. This made the patient more anxious and his pain went up because he was so anxious.
While the staff could use a writing pad to communicate with the patient, there was still a concern the patient wouldn't be able to understand what was happening easily.
After trying to find a correct battery in the hospital and online, Sarah took the time to take one of the patient's dead batteries to the store in search of a match. She was able to find a match and bought the battery for the patient for the morning staff to give to him.
