Although I never met Sarah RN, she helped coordinate care for my father, who was very sick from kidney/lung/stomach cancer. My dad was tough and didn't want his kids to worry about him, and neither of us truly realized how sick he was. He had made a goal to travel to Ireland so he could walk my sister down the aisle for her wedding. I later found out how much effort his nurse, Sarah, had put into making it happen. She helped write a letter to customs and altered his treatment protocol. He was able to make it to the wedding and walk her down the aisle. Memories I'm sure my sister will always cherish. While it doesn't sound like much, I now know, looking back, that he was very sick and he didn't have much time left. He sadly passed away 5 months later. Hearing what Nurse Sarah did years later brought warmth to my heart because we were all able to experience one last important event with him thanks to the kindness and compassion of Nurse Sarah.
