Sarah took care of my mother for six of the twelve days she was in the CVICU. Every single day, Sarah went above and beyond for my mom. Mom was sedated for the first few days but that didn't stop Sarah from talking to her like she was awake. She would tell Mom everything she was going to do before she did it. Sarah told me that she believes that even though the patient may not be awake, that they can still hear us. I couldn't agree more with this. We could tell how much Sarah enjoys her job by how well she took care of our mom.
Sarah always checked on any of us that were in the room to see if we needed anything and to make sure that we were taking care of ourselves. She also learned all our names after just the first day and she always greeted us by name. Every time she gave Mom a bath, she always braided Mom's hair to keep it from getting matted. More times than not, you could find Sarah in Mom's room, not out at the desk.
We were always at ease with her around because she continuously went the extra mile when taking care of our mom. Sarah played a huge role in my mom's recovery and I will never be able to thank her enough. Sarah far exceeds the standard of care.
