Sarah took a great deal of time and conscious effort to assist my friend and calm her fears.
I was admitted to CIC with COVID/pneumonia in December. I received a call from my friend who was worried she wouldn't be able to get the insulin she needed. This was a crisis situation. My nurse, Sarah, came into the room and check on my oxygen. I made a comment to her about my friend and that she could go into a diabetic coma without her insulin and voiced my frustration about being in the hospital and maybe leaving AMA. Sarah immediately knew something had changed. Calmly and reassuringly, she asked me what the situation was and offered assistance. Sarah got on the phone with my friend and helped her navigate who she could call to receive her insulin. She took a great deal of time and conscious effort to assist my friend and calm her fears. Sarah saved the day and helped diffuse a difficult situation. Sarah not only took care of my physical and emotional needs but also the needs of my friend.
