Before Sarah left, she came up to me and gave me the tightest hug. I will forever remember Sarah, and I will remember her level of nursing.
Sarah was my grandmother's RN during the day for three days in a row while she was in the ICU. My grandmother had a heart attack while my mother was in the room, and they were putting my grandmother back in bed after using the bedside toilet. Sarah immediately knew what to do and was calm the entire time. The code button in the room didn't work, so she stuck her head out in the hall and yelled for help. She immediately began CPR and life-saving measures on my grandmother.

I was in Arkansas and drove up as soon as my mom called me. I am a Registered Nurse also, and when I got there on Saturday, Sarah was amazing. She let me know what was going on. She let me know what to watch for, like her kidneys. She answered all my questions. She also was so caring, compassionate, and just a great person. She answered all our questions and was so nice about all the concerning questions. She was kind and compassionate, and her heart was huge. I knew my grandmother was in the best hands. Sarah told me she had been an ICU nurse at the same hospital for 24 years.

Her honesty was refreshing and it allowed us to get family in the room to say our goodbyes. I am truly forever grateful for Sarah and the care she gave my grandmother and my family. I remember on that Sunday night, way after the time she was supposed to get off, she stayed. She stayed and let me know my grandmother's kidneys were failing and that her vent was not responding anymore. She was gracious and compassionate, explaining everything to me. I then explained it to my mother so she could make the best decisions. Before Sarah left, she came up to me and gave me the tightest hug. I will forever remember Sarah, and I will remember her level of nursing. She is one of the most amazing nurses I have ever seen in action. She deserves the DAISY Award. She deserves more than I could ever give her. She was wonderful and I just want everyone to know.
