Serda definitely deserves this. She is not only a great RN; she is a great person! She is always smiling and has a great attitude. She was recently asked to visit another patient in the hospital, who happened to be a native of her home country of Haiti. Serda not only met the patient, but she did more. Serda was excited to speak her native language with someone from her country. She stopped by and visited the patient as often as possible, having great conversations about his village in relation to where Serda's home village was. Serda learned how the man came to the U.S. Serda even went out and brought the man snacks to go with her good company. She even left her phone number for him to reach her for anything, even just to talk. Serda was all smiles when I asked her how her experience with the patient went. Serda said she loved speaking her native language and talking about her homeland with the patient. Serda truly made a difference in this patient's experience, and he in hers.
