I am nominating Sharon, although I have never met her face to face, I know that I can always count on her to be available to help with any of the Klamath Falls CBOC patients as well as any White City patients. I have many patients that I schedule CT scans for and while some of them don't see providers in Klamath Falls, they do use the facility to get labs and prep for the scans I have to do on them. Sharon never says "its not my job" or "they aren't my patient." I schedule the patient and put a note in their chart for her to get their labs drawn and she immediately calls and gets it taken care of. I had a patient recently that needed labs for an exam within one day. It is often difficult to get turn around service that fast as the patients blood gets drawn in Klamath Falls (80 miles away) and then sent to White City for processing. Somehow, Sharon made it happen. I contacted her and she said she would do her best and she did. The patient came right in at her request and she got the blood sent that same day. When I arrived to work the next day I had the results so I could perform the scan at nine without delay. This may have saved the Veterans life. That is just one example of the many things I know I can count on her for. Sharon stands out for many reasons. I call patients to schedule them for their CT's and I am not always able to reach them. I have put notes in their chart stating that I have not been able to contact them and then she goes to work on it. It usually doesn't take more than a day for me to hear from the patients after that. Sharon always lets me know what's going on and she is someone I can count on to get efficient and sometimes life saving help to our Veterans.
