I went to FRH and at the time I didn't know how lucky I was to have Shasta as my nurse. It didn't take long to realize what a gem she is. She made me feel like I was her only patient and that she was so glad she was taking care of me. I had kind of a tough procedure and was a little traumatized, but Shasta was right there for me. I don't know that she knew the procedure was very painful, she is just automatically sweet and compassionate and put me so at ease. She mentioned that she rarely had the same patient before and after a procedure and seemed excited about it. For some reason that really made me feel good! Shasta is very knowledgeable about medical issues, but a classroom didn't teach her compassion, care, and love or patience - she was born with those gifts. I'm so glad she's sharing with others. It's probably easy to forget that a person in "Same Day" is nervous and uneasy, particularly if it's a fairly new experience, but Shasta's first smile takes care of all that. There aren't enough positive words to use to describe Shasta, she is absolutely wonderful and a huge asset to FRH! It's really nice to have a "New Best Friend" for a day!!
