Tonight we had such an amazing sweet nurse whose generosity and kindness compelled me to find a way to do something nice for her in return. My 90-year-old grandmother was in the hospital recovering from a cardiac procedure. Our nurse Shauna, who came in at 7 pm to work a 12-hour shift (I don't know how you nurses do it) off the bat had such a sweet and bubbly attitude that was simply a joy to be around. It was clear that my grandma was going to be in good hands that night, but what really took us aback was when she came in a few hours later with Jimmy John's footlong sandwiches (as well as one of their famous pickles) that she had purchased for both me and my grandma with her own money. She wouldn't allow us to pay her back either. I can't express enough what a kind and caring gesture that was and it really gives me hope that there are genuinely good people taking care of those in need!
