Shaunie is an excellent caregiver to her patients, her coworkers, and the students that she precepts. As a charge, I appreciate when Shaunie is working because I know not only will she take excellent care of her patients, but I can count on her help for me and other nurses. Shaunie retains information incredibly well, educating both patients and caregivers with her knowledge. Shaunie also recently caught a blood transfusion reaction, stopping the blood and getting the patient the help she needed. This attention to detail is what makes Shaunie so amazing. Multiple times when I've been charging, Shaunie will volunteer to admit a patient next, give meds for another nurse, take a patient (not her own) to the bathroom, etc. Her students always have great feedback for her since she is open to teaching in the moment and encouraging students to be engaged. Shaunie recently moved from nightshift to dayshift and all of us on nights are so sad! We will miss her and her willingness to help but look forward to getting patients in report who are safe, well-cared for, and clean.
