Shauntae Britt was the first recovery nurse I had when we were transferred from Labor and Delivery; I couldn't have asked for a better nurse. She was bubbly and yet soft-spoken to match the early morning hour. She kept on the delivery nurse to make sure that she made notes in my file.
Shauntae also dedicated a lot of time to help me feed my baby in the middle of the night. She wouldn't stay awake and fully latch, Shauntae's calm presence made a middle of the night feeding less stressful. I was saddened when her shift changed, and when I thought she wasn't coming back the next night. Fortunately, she did come back and was just as delightful.
I felt completely comfortable when she wheeled my baby to her hearing check in the middle of the night, knowing she was in safe good hands. When her shift just ended I asked if she'd come home with me too. If you filled your hospital with more Shauntae's you'd have moms dancing out of here in good spirits.
