I got very emotional and scared for the future and what this meant for my family's life. The one thing that kept my husband and me feeling safe was this nurse.
Today, my husband and I were seen by the Dr. and this nurse. My husband was having severe chest pain. Within two minutes of us being in the room, the nursing staff was at the side of the bed; starting IVs and hooking my husband up to the vitals machine. We have never experienced such quick work from an ER team. Dr was at the side of the bed along with her within five minutes, and testing was started. We were both so immensely impressed with how quickly the staff was able to work to get things running so we could figure out what was wrong with my husband.
After testing came back, it was found that he was having a heart attack that was not showing up on the EKG. I was terrified. I got very emotional and scared for the future and what this meant for my family's life. The one thing that kept my husband and me feeling safe was this nurse. She was at our beck-and-call for multiple hours as more testing was done, more medications were ordered, and the decision to go to the operating room was made. The two of them provided us with support, made sure we had anything we needed, and answered every single question I could think of. This nurse was training another, and you could tell that they worked very well together.
She has an outstanding personality-- a personality that most definitely belongs in this field. She made one of the scariest days of my husband's (and my) life more bearable due to their kindness. I will never forget the compassion that she showed us today, and I hope that by writing this, you can sense how grateful I am for them. They are both a wonderful asset to your team, and we were lucky to be cared for by them today. Thank you to the Dr. and the entire emergency room team that took care of us today. You never gave up on us, and we are SO grateful for that.
