Sheila has a true desire to help me and all the other veterans and their families she comes in contact with. She has a generosity of spirit, a special sensitivity to each person's goals and requirements and a desire to help unconditionally while providing "world-class" comfort and care as if she were my private nurse.
Sheila is very comfortable to talk with thus allowing me to share very detailed concerns about my past and current health along with future healthy living goals. I am sometimes concerned with only me and Sheila listens patiently, evaluates my concerns and uses empathetic, loving words to address those concerns. This is my first time in ICU and I know being here means I have some serious health issues or multiple issues.
I am so grateful to have been placed into the loving expert care of Sheila. My PTSD can sometimes cause me "strange" concerns and Sheila loves and provides premier care through it all.
The little things are also important like keeping ice or my favorite juices available for me, bedding fixed just so, handling my meds in a timely manner, promptly answering my call button, smiling and giving encouraging words and gestures, saying "hello" at the beginning of the shift and "goodbye" at the end of the shift.
Thank you, Sheila, for all you do and all of who you are. I really do appreciate you coming into my life because of my health condition.
Salamat, Salamat, Salamat!
(Salamat means "thank you" in Tagalog)

I would like to talk about my experience at your facility and one of your employees in particular. Her name is Sheila Dizon, she works at ICU.
I came in with very scary symptoms. I didn't know what was going to happen. I found myself alone, scared, and crying. Next thing I know, this nurse explained what was going on me. She came in and I knew everything was going to be okay.
She sat down with me, grabbed my hand and asked me what was wrong, got me a warm blanket and sat by my side. She explained to me that I am not alone and that there are amazing people that work here, and everyone will make sure that I have the best care. She was right.
I ended up spending the night or two and I thought I'm going to die. She came up again the next day and checked on me. I told her she didn't have to because I knew she was busy and said, "Not too busy for you. You are my top priority".
I just want this hospital to know how lucky you are to have an amazing, hardworking, compassionate, knowledgeable, patient nurse. She is one of a kind. Nurses like her need to be acknowledged and commended. She is an Angel!
