There was so much compassion and caring in her manner. I felt as if I was really important to her.
I was admitted to Emanuel Medical Center, and diagnosed as having a heart attack. A stent was put in and a day later I was moved to the Progressive Care Unit. There I met Sheila Gray. What a kind and pleasant disposition she has. It was a refreshing addition to a difficult situation. She was very knowledgeable. She answered questions in a clear and understandable manner. And if she did not have the answer, she would find out. The manner in which she approached the subject was professional and reassuring. You could trust what she said. More importantly, she was always available. She was kind but firm in delivering instructions. Even now I take my medication because Sheila said to. I am careful when I walk to the bathroom because Sheila would be mad if I fell. There was so much compassion and caring in her manner. I felt as if I was really important to her. Conversations were friendly, meaningful, and fun. Most importantly, she was always available. Walking down the hall, she would glance in, say hi, and see if I was ok. She was there for me.
