My father was in your hospital recently for about five days. I spent four of those with him 24 hours a day. And, while the entire nursing staff was professional and competent, from the moment Shelly Feazell came in for the report between the shifts you could see and "feel" a difference in her. The best way to describe this is that she was totally "Present" for my father. She was not just making her rounds. When she was in the room he was her only patient. When he complained of his hips hurting more than his back (back surgery with a 72-hour flat on his back order because of spinal fluid leak) she offered heat packs instead of just giving him more pain meds. She offered him care for his chapped lips. And, she offered him the ability to clean his teeth and give him oral care with a suction/toothbrush device. Her words of compassion were heartfelt while looking at him and into his eyes instead of being casually off while hurrying out the door. Your facility has many well-trained and caring nurses but Shelly stood out. This is why she deserves this DAISY Award and our family's respect and gratitude.
